Silverine Muller
Silverine Muller is a Sri Lankan artist whose work is deeply intuitive and personal. Painting without the constraints of formal artistic training, she allows emotion, memory and instinct to guide the canvas.
Her predominantly abstract and figurative works explore identity, solitude, relationships, vulnerability, resilience and the quiet transformations that occur throughout a lifetime. Faces and human forms often emerge through layers of texture and colour, sometimes clearly visible and sometimes almost disappearing into their surroundings.
For Silverine, painting is less about creating something perfect and more about expressing something true. Her canvases often begin without a predetermined story; meaning reveals itself gradually through the process of painting.
The Body of Work
States of being, rather than portraits
Across these works, the human figure is rarely presented as a fixed portrait. It appears through texture, colour, fragments and gesture, sometimes visible, sometimes partially erased. The recurring subjects are not simply people, but states of being: waiting, remembering, enduring, choosing, belonging, loving and finding stillness.
Every painting is an original, one of one, signed by the artist and issued with a certificate of authenticity. Private viewings are available by appointment.
